Production:
The base of every film begins with someone having an idea. This idea could be constructed by a director, a writer even by a run of the mill joe bloggs from down the road. Every single film released is based on an idea that someone had for a film that consists of some sort of plot aswell as very minor details about characters that could become involved (ie family of three --> masculine dad, insecure mum, misbehaving child in trip around the world. gives brief plot and background.)
Once an idea has been concieved, it is up to the person who has the idea to pitch this idea to the studio, to convince them that it is a film worth making. they have to be talked into it and have full belief that the film will be a hit, although making films is risky because they are not always a success. The way the idea should be pitched will be by normally developing it into a summary of how the film will go.
If the pitch is approved, the studio will put together a team of people to make the movie. Once the studio finds a director they find the actors. The studio is also responsible for finding the money and sometimes the studio will need investors to raise enough cash
The production is first started by location scouts first finding places to film the movie, where it is then ready to be made. the film is then filmed in the order of actors and locations that are available. The postproduction is where all of the editing takes place. All of the music is added, the actors re-shoot scenes that need to be changed. The editing is mostly done on computers.
